Nicole F. Barrasso is an associate whose practice focuses on general civil litigation. Ms. Barrasso is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She is a member of the Barnstable County Bar Association and the Women’s Association Bar Association of Massachusetts.
Ms. Barrasso received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Maryland in 1994, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her law degree, magna cum laude, from Boston College in 1998. While at Boston College Law School, she competed in the John J. Gibbons National Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition, where she was awarded Best Orator. She also volunteered as an executive director of the Boston College Law School Holocaust/Human Rights Project and interned with the United States Attorney’s Office.
From September, 1998 to August, 1999, Ms. Barrasso served as a law clerk to the justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court, where she assisted justices in all phases of civil and criminal litigation. From September, 1999 to August, 2000, Ms. Barrasso served as a law clerk to the justices of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, in particular the Honorable Benjamin Kaplan. She then worked in the commercial department of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo, PC, where she primarily represented corporate debtors in bankruptcy court, but also represented lenders in financial transactions. Ms. Barrasso later worked in the pre-sentence unit of the U.S. Probation Office, where she prepared analyses of the federal sentencing guidelines for use by judges of the U.S. District Court in Boston, Massachusetts.
